Américo Vespucio Oriente underground highway in Santiago de Chile by the OHL-Sacyr concessionary temporary join venture, with a length of 9 km and three lanes at each side and a total investment of US$ 935 M (1st roads project to be developed with BIM)
Characteristics:
- Sector 1. El Salto – South to the Centenario Bridge with an extension of 3.368 km. and consisting of the following main works:
- Unidirectional 3 lane tunnel direction North – South.
- Improvement of the pyramid downhill, configuring it into a 3 lane direction North –
- Connection works for the mining tunnel at the 2 heights covered trench.
- Execution at the El Salto sector, of the following structures: Armored earth walls for the location of construction strikes and ventilation, structure for an exit ti the surface, new underground access to the Business City, access hatches, platform enlargement and renewal of the existing tracks.
- Tunnel connection to the coast road.
- Continued bicycle road.
- Overlook squares.
- Slopes treatments.
- Connections from/to local roads.
- Sector 2. Centenario Bridge - Príncipe de Gales with an extension of 5.689 km. and consisting of the following main works:
- Underground solution in two levels, higher level will have the South – North transit and the lower level will have the North – South traffic.
- Kennedy connection.
- Connections from/to local roads.
- Vespucio Park redesign, generating segregated roads for pedestrians and cyclers, improving the design, infrastructure and equipment components.
- Surface road works.
- Service channeling gallery.
