IDP is awarded the engineering of the General Mackenna underground parking project in Chile

The IDP Group has been awarded the project for the construction and operation of the Mackenna General Underground Public Parking, commune of Santiago, for SABA Estacionamientos Chile S.A. Is about a work that will have a total of 383 parking spaces distributed in two underground floors with a total built surface of 9,678 m2.

The project will be located in the northern sector of the municipality of Santiago, in the Metropolitan Region of Chile, specifically in General Mackenna Street between Amunategui and Teatinos, having a wide impact on the surface of the road from Manuel Rodríguez Avenue to the Morandé street.

The project will be carried out entirely in BIM (Building Information Modeling), being the first parking designed with this technology in the country.

The BIM methodology allows us to design, project, organize and direct the digital construction of the project and the subsequent work, integrating all the information into a single parameterized model in 7 dimensions, eliminating errors due to interferences, ensuring the documentary coherence of the entire file and guaranteeing compliance with the requirements at the level of terms and costs.

For the successful execution of the BIM in the project it has been developed a BIM Execution Plan (BEP) which defines the rules and processes to ensure that the BIM objectives will be applied in the entire project.

It should be noted that Saba is an industrial operator of reference in the development of solutions in the field of urban mobility specialized in parking management. With a staff of more than 2,300 people, the group is present in nine countries in Europe and Latin America and has nearly 378,000 parking spaces distributed in 1,175 centres.
